How to Hang a Screen Door
A screen door can help to incorporate a patio or outside living area with the interior of your home. Screen doors also provide the luxury of allowing fresh air to enter your home, and warm air to leave your home. Hanging a screen door is a relatively easy process that you can do yourself.
Follow the simple steps below to hang a screen door in no time!
Step #1:
- Locate the four wheels at each corner of the door.
- Note that each wheel has a slot that runs through the middle of the wheel, much like those on a train (these slots rest on the top of the screen tracks of the door frame).
Step #2:
- Position the top of the screen into the top of the door frame from the outside of the home.
- The slots of the wheels should fit into the upper rails.
Step #3:
- Push the screen door upwards.
- The wheels are attached to springs (pushing the door upward will collapse the springs and allow the bottom of the door to fit inside the lower door tracks).
Step #4:
- Push the bottom of the screen door against the door frame while maintaining pressure on the upper wheels.
Step #5:
- Release the door to complete the installation.
With that, you’ve successfully hung your screen door!
